Senior Pastor: Jim Thompson 


Responsibilites: Pastor Jim leads the vision for WBBC and oversees all the ministries related to the church. He is the chairman of the elder board and serves as the under-shephard to Christ here at Bible Baptist Church.

 Experience: Pastor Jim served as a youth pastor in the Birmingham area after graduating from college. He has planted Dale Bible Church in Indiana in 1987. He then served as the senior pastor at Portege Bible Church in Indiana until 2010. He was called to serve at Bible Baptist Church in Wilton, AL in 2010 and currently serves as the senior pastor. 

Vision: In a culture in which churches are trying to reach the lost by being culturally relevant, Pastor Jim believes that the clear teaching and application of the Word of God is the method in which the Holy Spirit cultivates change in His own children and draws the unbeliever to Himself.
 

Pastor Jim loves God's Word and loves God's people. His goal is to preach and teach the Word of God expositional with such clarity and personal application that WBBC will be "conformed to the image of Jesus Christ."

He believes with firm, loving conviction that the best way to influence our culture is to bring souls to Jesus Christ by maintaining a solid personal testimony and witness, teaching and preaching the Word of God with passion, and discipling new believers with the Word of God.

Associate Pastor: Nathan Armstrong


Responsibilites: Pastor Nathan leads the youth ministry and seeks to develop teens into Christ-like disciples who serve the church and their community. He oversees the worship in the church, and provides vision under the direction of Pastor Jim. He is involved in helping with church administration, technology, and men's ministries.

Experience: Pastor Armstrong served on staff as an assistant pastor in Bradenton, FL for over 7 years after graduating from seminary. They moved to Alabama in 2018 to join the staff at WBBC as an associate pastor over worship and youth. 

Vision: Pastor Nathan is burdened to establish a culture of disciple-making in the church and believes every church attender should be involved in the discipleship process. Pastor Nathan seeks to establish a Word-centered approach to discipleship in the church. He reminds the youth that real faith in Christ is more than just storing up facts about the Bible in your head; it's a way of life—the only way to live: having a real, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Nathan and Mrs. Lori seek to minister one-on-one with the teens as well as their parents, and seek to reach beyond their academic needs to help minister to the greater spiritual needs of those families. His vision for worship is motivated by a Word-centered theology that seeks to engage the hearts and minds of the congregation with the Word in worship rather than a emotionally driven philosophy. The worship is geared towards the goal of providing a vibrant modern worship experience that is based on sound theology.

Visitation Pastor: Tom Hammett

Responsibilities: Pastor Tom serves as the visitation pastor at WBBC and seeks to encourage the people of the church who are hurting and suffering with the perfect peace of God's Word and prayer. He also teaches an adult Sunday School class on Sunday mornings.

Experience: Pastor Tom served as the senior pastor of WBBC for nearly thirty years before semi-retiring in 2010. He and wife lovely bride continue to serve in the church by teaching Sunday School and serving in a local funeral home. 

Vision: Pastor Tom is burdened to share the comforting words of our Lord with the people in the Wilton/Montevallo area. He seeks to provide godly counsel to those in need and proclaims the necessity of allow God's thoughts given to us in the scriptures to saturate our minds and hearts with truth.
